GO LEAD: A Management Program for
nonprofit Leaders |
|
GO LEAD will provide a series of seminars designed specifically to
explore management issues related to the nonprofit sector.
Sessions will start in September, 2007 and run monthly, on the
fourth
Wednesday of the month, for 9 months
(excluding December,) ending in June of 2008.

Track 1 - Nuts &
Bolts |
|
This
series of seminars will focus on key topics related to the
management and governance of nonprofit organizations – the nuts &
bolts of operating a nonprofit. This track was designed for
individuals who are relatively new to the nonprofit sector, or for
those who seek practical information about daily operations.

Track 2 - Nonprofit
Leadership
in the 21st Century |
|
This set of seminars will
take a broader, more strategic look at the nonprofit
sector. Consideration will be given to future trends. This track was
designed for individuals who already have had multiple years of
experience as a staff or board member in nonprofit organizations,
and for those who have completed Track 1
|

|
Curriculum |
|
The curriculum of both
tracks will include topics essential to the management and
governance of nonprofits. Topics will include Board
Development, Board and Executive Director Roles and
Responsibilities, Strategic Planning, Finance, Marketing,
Fundraising, Volunteer Management, Legal Issues and Governance. A
variety of highly qualified instructors will be used

Certificate |
|
A Nonprofit Management
Certificate from Missouri State University will be awarded to individuals who complete either track
of the GO LEAD program, provided they attend at least 7 of the 8
sessions.
