Our Mission

The mission of the Community and Social Issues Institute (hereafter "Institute") is to
serve as a catalyst to organize and apply the research and service capacity of the University to assist public and private organizations as they address significant social issues facing the many communities served by Missouri State University. The Institute will position itself as a partner in the broad network of organizations that promote collaboration and social entrepreneurship as strategic tools for sustainable community development.

The mission of the Institute is to:

• identify the research and service needs of the region's various for-profit
  and not-for-profit organizations,
• locate faculty who can address those needs, and
  
• assist those faculty and requesting organizations in pursuing funding, if needed.
