This is your first step towards National Certification with the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP).
This course is designed to prepare you for a career as a long term care activity professional, working with the elderly in long term care facilities and adult daycare settings.
Betty Hancock, the course instructor for Missouri State - CCPE's Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals, is an approved provider for:
- NAAP/NCCAP 90 hours MEPAP 2nd Edition Part I (Video Home Study) for Activity Professional and 90 hours of practicum pre-approved for 180 Hours of continuing education

Your fee of 750 will include:
- 15 VHS tapes of video instruction, presented by experienced gerontology professionals.
- Student Manuals A and B, which include note pages, homework assignments and handouts.
- Individual guidance, instruction and advice from our primary instuctor and staff via telephone and email.

The NCCAP offers a National Certification for Activity Directors, (ADC, Activity Director Certified). For some activity professionals, MEPAP 2nd Edition Part I will be the only portion of the course required for national certification.
Other activity professionals may be required to take both of the MEPAP 2nd Edition Part I & II courses to be eligible for National Certification. Please visit www.nccap.org for more information.
This course is designed by the NCCAP to give practical knowledge to students who desire to, or are currently working in the field of activities/recreation for the elderly.
It consists of fifteen sessions including professional instruction on care planning, assessment and documentation, human development, newsletters, treatment programs, activity calendars and many other topics essential to today’s activity professional.
