GO LEAD: Professional Development for the Nonprofit Sector


GO LEAD is a series of eight half-day workshops which provide management training and networking opportunities to nonprofit executive directors, staff and board members. GO LEAD classes start in September of each year and run through May, meeting on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

 

 
 

Track 1 - Nuts & Bolts


This series of workshops focuses on essential nonprofit management practices - the nuts and bolts of operating a nonprofit. Our focus is on practical, applicable information about best practices for daily operations.
 

 
 

Track 2 - Nonprofit Leadership in the 21st Century


This series of workshops builds upon the foundation established in Track 1, with a focus on what nonprofit leaders need to know to position their nonprofits effectively for the future. Additional attention will be paid to key management issues and future trends will also be considered.
 

 
 

Curriculum


The curriculum for both tracks will include topics essential to the management and goverance of nonprofit organizations. Topics will include legal and financial literacy, board recruitment, fundraising and asset development, collaboration and partnerships, human resource management and boards and executives working together.
 

 
 

Nonprofit Management Certificate


A nonprofit management certificate from Missouri State University will be awarded to individuals who complete either track of GO LEAD, provided they attend at least 7 of 8 sessions.
