Have you ever wanted to learn how to communicate with a deaf friend or co-worker? Would you like to become an interpreter for the Deaf? Join us for this fun night of ASL demonstrations and light refreshments and explore your interest further. This event is FREE.

ASL Banquet
Saturday Novembe 8th, 6:30-9:00pm

All ASL staff, members of the deaf community, and all past and present students are invited to a night of good food and fun. Catch up with old friends and meet some new ones on this special evening. The event will beheld on Saturday November 8th, 2008 at 6:30pm. The banquet will be held at Kentwood Hall/Crystal Room and is $20 per person.

Personal Interest

Are you interested in learning to sign?
  ASL is the 4th most commonly used language in the United States according to the
    National Institute of Deafness and Communication Disorders.
  Our classes will help you communicate with Deaf family members, co-workers, and
    friends. You can develop a better understanding of the Deaf community.
 

Missouri Licensed Interpreter Test Preparation

Are you interested in becoming a licensed Interpreter?
  Missouri State University curriculum is equivalent to the curriculum offered at 
     Interpreter Training Programs throughout the State of Missouri.
  Learn skills needed to prepare for the Missouri Interpreters Certification System
    exam through advanced-level classes in voice-to-sign, interactive, and sign-to voice.
  If you have questions about Missouri Interpreters Certification System requirements
    for interpreters, call the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
    (MCDHH) at 573-526-5205, or visit the MCDHH website at www.mcdhh.mo.gov.
    For questions on obtaining a license issued by the State Committee of Interpreters,
    call 573-526-7787 or visit their website at http://pr.mo.gov/interpreters.asp
 

Continuing Education

Are you interested in earning continuing education units for your profession?
Successful completion of classes and/or workshops qualifies participants for CEU's approved by Missouri State Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and by Missouri State University.
